Ariston 8gal Tank Is Giving Small Peices Of Black Sediment. Two Tanks Replaced Now..are These Just Defective?
Posted on | January 8, 2010 | 2 Comments
We have installed a Rennai tankless hot water heater with a 8 gal Ariston electric hotwater heater. After a few days of operation we noticed small peices of black sediment coming out of the hot water side only. Removal of the Ariston clears up the problem. 2 tanks now and both had the same problem. Is this a problem with Ariston, all small electric tanks, or something else? Thanks!

The tanks are well insulated with glass so there is little heat lost. Hey, they aren’t the most efficient hot water system out there — solar and tankless water heaters still beat them — but for a easy retrofit these aren’t a bad choice. They range in price from $139 to $169. I havent had the bad luck that you have had with this brand but you might want to look into another brand. I think they are great money savers.
