Different Types Of Vents For Gas Water Heaters?
Posted on | December 18, 2009 | 2 Comments
Some gas water heaters have a draft hood and some are connected directly to the vent pipe. An ordinary one usually has a draft hood and a tankless one usually connects directly to a vent pipe.
I’m thinking about getting a tankless, but I have the type of vent that uses a draft hood. It seems to me I should try to find a tankless that uses a draft hood, to make it work with my vent.
Right?
What brands should I look at?
The reason I want to replace it is that it has a small leak. And I was planning to get a tankless in the future. But since I’m replacing it sooner, it makes sense to go ahead and get a tankless now.

USA Check with your supply store where you will buy the heater. Some tankless heaters need a fan powered vent.
Tankless is the way to go.
