Does Anyone Have An Opinion On A Tankless Water Heater?

Yes, I do. They are great! Way more energy efficient, and take up a lot less space. The down side is they are more expensive.

Last year the cabin we stayed in at the lake had one. Worked great. I want one for my home, but can’t afford it at this time. I do plan to get one someday.

Before you do anything, take 10 mins at http://appliancequickfix.com/ and see what they have to say.

It wasn’t a good option for us when we considered our useage and the costs for it and installation. Here is a website that has a lot of information about them: http://www.plbg.com/education-tankless-w… For us, the venting would have to be changed and that was very expensive because of the way in which it was routed.

I live up north where it get real cold in the winter. The water temperature coming into the house gets down to the upper 30s in the winter.
Tankless water heaters can only raise the temp about 50-80 degrees depending on if they are gas powered or electric an how much hot water is needed.
If you live up north is is best to have two units so you will never have luke warm water.
For this reason I prefer my tank heater. The energy savings would never pay for the cost of two tankless units.

They don’t take up alot of space. They cost a few hundred dollars more than a regular water heater. The water heats up quicker when you turn it on and they are economical in the long run.
