    Does an on demand burn the heater elements if the water is turned off? My tank type does burn out the heater elements if the water level drops below the elements in the tank.

    Also, is the on demand water heater repairable or would a person have to buy a new one in case of failure?

When you turn off the faucet, the heating stops.

    The Powerstar AE125 is only 15.5 inches wide, 15.25 inches high and 4.5 inches deep. If you purchase this small, wall-mounted electric tankless model, you will be able to utilize the space that your old tank water heater now occupies.

    Because of its small size, this unit provides versatility in your installation options. For example, you can mount it under a sink or in a cabinet close to the water fixtures it will serve. With this type of installation you can avoid the cost of installing long water pipelines. Long pipe runs are the cause of irritating hot water delays, as well as the wastage of gallons of water while you wait for hot water to emerge from the spigot. By installing it as a point of use water heater, you will get instant hot water as soon as you turn on the faucet.

    Because this unit draws 27,000 Watts of electricity, you will need to upgrade your electric supply to a 240V, 200 Amp service. You will also need to install three dedicated 40 amp breakers in your breaker box.

    The AE125 has 3 heating elements, and the heating is electronically modulated using very sensitive flow sensors. This results in a very precise temperature control. To prevent overheating through malfunction, there is a thermal cut-out safety device.

    The Powerstar AE125 electric tankless water heater has a life expectancy of about 20 years. In comparison, the average life expectancy of an electric tank water heater is about 12 or 13 years.

    The warranty on the heat exchanger modules is 10 years, and 1 year on all other parts.
