		<description>Many older tanks that were installed dint have the cutoffs installed (it was cheaper). Trace the incoming water line(from the tank) as far back as possible and you might be lucky,  find a cutoff down the line. If you cannot locate one than you are right by having to cut the water off to the entire home.

 Depending on the age of the tank it&#039;s possible that it rusted through or someone ran into it with a car and broke the glass lining inside. First make sure the water didn&#039;t come from a broken pipe leading to the water heater or somewhere in the area.

If it&#039;s defiantly the tank than the price is going to depend on the cost of labor (typically 200-300 bucks) plus materials/tank. Make sure whether the pros do it or you do it; you install cutoff&#039;s on the intake side and the exit side within easy reach.</description>
