Question by Ann B: How many GPM should I get my tankless water heater?
I am looking to purchase a 120v electric tankless water heater specifically to be used for my kitchen sink and dishwasher. I am looking at sizes and am unsure of the size I need. I also see min flow GPM and max flow GPM. What does this mean and what size GPM will I need? Also, any recommendations on brands and places to purchase the heater? THANKS!!!!

I assume as you have mentioned a dish washer that it is a hot fill as in the UK they are generally cold so would have no effect re the water heater.. GPM is gallons per minute of flow but it needs to be taken with recovery time as well. So for example your dishwasher needs 3 gallons to fill for a wash and your heater holds 5 gallons in total and needs 1 hour to recover its temperature you would need to wait for a hour before doing another wash. You will need to see how much water you need for the washer and how often it needs to be on and how much water you use in the sink and how often or if this is an instantaneous heat on demand type heater you will be limited to size by the electrical capacity available to you.

It goes by the amount of bedrooms and people in your house , you need at least 40 pounds of pressure and nat gas , the electric one is very expensive.
