Tankless Water Heater

everything you need to know about tankless water heaters

Our hot water went out. How do i find out if our water heater is still good or if something else is to blame?

The water heater appears (visually) fine, it’s not leaking or anything, what steps can i take to check to see if it’s still functional. What can i replace on it? Is the water heater the only culprit or can something else be the problem. We are going old school having to boil water on the stove to bath, not fun at all especially during these chilly days 8^ ( Thank you.
It is electric. What am looking for when i turn the breaker on/off a sound, noise? Thanks.

if its electric turn the breaker off [push it to off]
    turn it back on
if its gas check at the bottom for a pilot light,

Make sure the Pilot light is lit. Sometimes a draft can blow them out.

Could be just a draft blew the pilot out, which is focused on the thermocouple, eliminating the electrical charge that keeps your gas flow to the burner. Either the pilot light will light and you need to get something in place to stop a draft or your thermocouple is bad, watch the video a generic thermocouple is about 10 buck at Home Depot, Lowe’s or Ace Hardware.
