Question by Ammy: Propane water heater makes loud screeching sounds when it’s running…?
I suspected it might be the blower motor but it is well oiled and turns freely.
There is also a lot of vibration that can be felt while it is running – could it be loose (metal) parts rubbing together?

Could be something inside blower wheel………throwing it out of balance.
And causing it to rub on the housing………….maybe

Has it been recently installed or serviced?
the screeching could be that the wrong size LP supply line is being used or the wrong size orifice is in the spuds feeding the main burner.

Sounds like the induced draft motor which is making the noise.
With any combustable appliance, call a qualified technician to make the needed repairs. It only takes one mistake playing with propane to be sorry for the rest of your life.
