When we turn the hot water on the pilot never lites up. NOW we have no hot water.

You have to turn the valve tp pilot, and then push down the button and light the pilot light , then when you use hot water the pilot will light the burner and heat the water, There should be directions on side of tank on how to operate it.

Sakura Sh 890 Tankless Gas Water Heater Pilot Won
t Ignite.?
I am renting and this place has a SH – 890.
I have had no hot water for 8 days and we have had 3 “fixers”. Finallly, one of them carried a multimeter.
Their solution was to replace the 3in
x 3″ plastic encased safety box. But, when they put it back together waiting for the new box, the unit worked just fine.
I am now in Lima Peru and all things which don’t operate is because of the humidity.
I still don’t know why it quits intermittantly but I now have hot water and must go and take a shower.
