Propane would be our only option right now, since the house doesn’t have enough amps to service an electric one. Upgrading to 200 amps would be a couple of thousand dollars right there.

I’m guessing the propane would be supplied in tanks, like we have outside the house for our gas stove… right?

Any ballpark guesstimates how much we would spend on propane for the tankless hot water system? (Average use for just two people?)
OK, so I just found that average propane price in the state is $2.99/gallon. That right there would be a big savings over the current $4.55 per gallon oil price! And I imagine we would save much more since the propane would only be in use when needed.

Does anyone have experience with a propane tankless system – about how long did a tank last you (and how much did that tank cost you?)
