Tankless Water Heater

everything you need to know about tankless water heaters

What does it mean when the water heater leaks from the top?

Posted on | May 5, 2010 | 3 Comments

We just noticed the other day water has been leaking from the top of our water heater apparently for some time and the water is rust colored streaks. We noticed the water doesn’t stay hot in showers anymore as it used to. What could this be?

Possably two separate problems…1)The leak could be from the flexible conecctors on top of the water tank. They may need tightened or replaced, they only last for about 5 years (about $5 each). 2) If you run out of water really fast, but it does start out hot, the dip tube in the tank might be broken, and need replaced.
