   The only two I know of that will meet that kind of demand are the Rinnai Continuum 2532-FFU-C which will put out about 6-8 gpm of hot water at a 90 degree rise or the Controlled Energy Aquastar model 170, which is also more of a commercial unit, but will supply 6-8 gallons of hot water as well. Great idea to go this way, good technology, great way to get water. Make sure you have them installed by an approved contractor though, or you can void your warrantee.

   i don’t think you’re going to be able to run two showers at once on a tankless. i’ve got a Bosch Aquastar natural gas water heater and its great. it’s more for linear usage, if you get my drift. you can run it all day long and you’ll never run out of hot water—so do your projects in a linear fashion. for example, run dishwasher, take shower, do a load of laundry, etc. it can’t really keep up with a lot of simultaneous projects going on. if someone steps in the shower and the dishwasher or clothes washer is running, or the furnace for that matter, you get noticeably cooler water.
   that’s just not a problem for our family. you don’t have the half to a full hour recovery that a tank model water heater has. we only heat the water we use.
   if you’re dead set on having two people shower at once, just take the shower with your significant other.
   i’m pretty sure that most of the information you’ll find when you do your internet search will say the same thing—that tankless models may have a problem with a sudden spike in simultaneous users of hot water.
