The first answer was somewhat correct about the gas line. To be more specific you will probably need a 3/4″ gas line since the heating capacity of a tankless system is much higher than a tank type system. You will not be able to use the same flue for a tankless system either. Tankless systems require a category III flue. If your heater is located in a garage you might be OK as far as getting the required combustion air but you will still need to check and make sure. I strongly suggest using a direct vent type so you won’t have to worry about the combustion air. Size the system liberally so there is no chance of demanding too much hot water through a system which can’t handle the flow. The dollar difference between Most of this information can be obtained from the sources i list below.
As far as the installation goes, find 3 competent plumbers who have installed this type of a heater before so you can get 3 quotes. Make sure each one has installed several of these systems and is certified by the manufacturer of the tankless system you choose. Most plumbers can also do gas piping so there should be no problems there.
Good luck to ya and if you find the sources below helpful, pass the word, I certainly would appreciate it. If ya have more questions i am just an email away.

Well there will probably need to be some gas lines moved. To move gas lines the company has to be licensed for that. What i would recommend is to find a plumbing company that is also licensed for gas pipe. Not a lot of plumbing company’s are but It would save you some money if you could get one company to do both.
